May 2002 OFUESI Newsletter

Greetings in the most highly exalted name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Hope and trust this letter finds you in good health and cheer.

Whenever I hold my newborn son Jonathan in my hands, I remember what the Psalmist said in Ps. 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made …”. God has created human beings in a special way in His image & His likeness. We could see God’s master design in the little children – how He really knit together all the limbs and carefully designed every small thing. We serve a God who is a God of order, creativity and wisdom.

Well, its long time that we have updated you with OFUESI news. Thank you for your continued prayers. God has been faithful in building up the OFUESI ministry. I want to give some of the highlights in this letter. Please go through and pray for OFUESI in your personal, family and corporate prayers.

1. Prayer cells: God is faithful in motivating the members to pray for UESI ministry. We have some new prayer cells came up and members in the existing prayer cells are meeting regularly. If you haven’t been part of these prayer cells, please contact the Prayer cell leader and be part of the prayer cell so that you can meaningfully pray for UESI ministry and also have fellowship with like-minded believers. Some of these prayer cells are not meeting regularly. Please pray for those prayer cells.

2. Upcoming Regional Prayer Conferences: Please pray and participate in the upcoming regional conferences. Fifth Western Regional Conference will be held during the 3^rd weekend of July (tentative) and Second Eastern Regional Conference will be held in August. If you want to know more details, please contact Bro. Errol Kantharia about Western Regional Conference and Bro. Suresh Chandran for Eastern Regional Conference.

3. Expansion of National Council: God willing, this year we will be expanding the National Council to 15 people. We are looking for committed, available people with the vision of OFUESI. Please pray that the Lord may raise good leaders to lead this organization according to His will & purpose.

4. New Website: New OFUESI website is under construction. Bro. Prakash George is leading this effort. If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact him. Also if you have talent or interest to develop the website and are available, please contact Bro. Prakash.

5. 501 c (3) status: As we have already informed, we have filed for 501 c (3) status (religious non-profit organization status) with IRS. We are still waiting for the approval. Please pray that we may get the approval soon. Mean while, if you would like to support UESI ministry and get tax-exemption for the amount you contributed, please send your contributions to D.M. Stearns Missionary Fund Inc., P. O. Box 1578, North Wales, PA 19454. You can also send your contributions through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, 6400 Schroeder Road, PO Box 7895, Madison, WI 53707. If you send it through IVCF, you will not get a receipt from UESI Office. We praise God that we could send more than $20,000 to UESI in the year 2001.

6. National Council meeting: This Summer National Council is going to meet. Please pray for this important meeting. We will give you more information regarding this in the next newsletter.

Salaries: UESI Staff are paid 100% salary for the month of April. Praise God for His providence! As the Salaries are revised, there will be a Rs. 60,000 ($1250) extra need from this month. Please pray.

Summer programs: Please pray for the summer programs including Committee members training camps, Leadership training camps in various states.

UESI Golden Jubilee: Please pray for UESI Golden Jubilee Celebrations to be held in the last week of December 2004. Pray for the conference committee as they are planning for this conference.
